Standout guard Zach LaVine has joined a long list of Bulls in the health and safety protocol, as has guard Troy Brown Jr., per multiple reports, including ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and NBC Sports Chicago’s KC Johnson.
Overall, the Bulls have nine players in the protocol despite the team’s 100 percent COVID-19 vaccination rate.
They recently signed forwards Stanley Johnson and Alfonzo McKinnie, though Johnson is among the players who entered the protocol.
Both Johnson and McKinnie were added via the NBA’s hardship exception, and per ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Bulls could still add more.
On the bright side, guard Coby White appears to be out of the protocol after returning to the practice facility, Wojnarowski reported.
Lavine, Brown, Johnson are joined on the Bulls’ protocol list by DeMar DeRozan, Ayo Dosunmu, Javonte Green, Derrick Jones Jr. and Matt Thomas.
“Chicago has a lighter schedule this week that could help alleviate the roster crunch. After Tuesday’s game, the Bulls will travel to Toronto on Thursday and will get two days off before hosting the Lakers next Sunday,” wrote Arthur Hill of Hoops Rumors.
