Lakers guard/forward Talen Horton-Tucker is being targeted as a trad possibility by at least seven rival teams, according to veteran insider Jordan Schultz of the Pull-Up Podcast.
Horton-Tucker, 21, is averaging career-highs of 11.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists after returning from injury. He had appeared in 15 games entering Monday night, starting 12 of them.
Because of that type of increased production, the Lakers will be “hesitant” to move Horton-Tucker, Schultz noted.
As an interesting aside, an earlier report from Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Lakers are now among the teams with interest in a Ben Simmons trade with the 76ers.
Horton-Tucker signed a three-year deal worth $30 million this offseason as a restricted free agent. Per NBA rules, he’s not eligible to be traded until Jan. 15. The NBA trade deadline is less than a month after that, on Feb. 10.
Along with Simmons, the Lakers are reportedly interested in Pistons forward Jerami Grant, who is said to be available.
