Free agent center Kosta Koufos is expected to sign with Reyer Venezia of Italy to tip off 2022, according to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
Koufos, 32, is 7-foot-0 and has been playing with the G League Ignite, averaging 19.4 points and 9.8 rebounds in three games. He most recently played for Greek club Olympiacos, and Russian club CSKA Moscow before that.
His previous run in the NBA came with the Kings from 2015-19. He has also spent time with the Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Nuggets and Jazz — who drafted him out of Ohio State with the No. 23 overall pick back in 2008.
Koufos played high school ball at Canton (Ohio) GlenOak, where he teamed with current Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum.
Carchia reported that the contract between Koufos and Reyer Venezia should be completed and official soon.
