Former 76ers guard/forward Furkan Korkmaz has signed with French club Monaco, the team announced.
Korkmaz, 27, spent seven seasons in the NBA, all with the 76ers, averaging 6.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. But he appeared in just 35 games last season and 37 the year before that. So the Sixers’ many additions this offseason left Korkmaz searching for a new place to play.
“Known for his accurate three-point shooting and game vision, Korkmaz aims to bring his high-level experience to Monaco and contribute significantly to the team’s future successes under coach Sasa Obradovic,” wrote Alessandro Maggi of Sportando.
- Free agent wing Dwayne Bacon has agreed to a deal with Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg, as relayed by Sportando. Bacon, 28, has appeared in 207 NBA games with the Hornets and Magic. He averaged a career-high 10.7 points with Orlando in 2020-21 but hasn’t played in the NBA since.
- Eurohoops wrote: “Despite trying to come back to the NBA, the 29-year-old scorer never managed to get that opportunity once again and found himself between Shanghai Sharks and Leones de Ponce in 2023-24.” (Bacon turns 29 on August 30.)
- Former Lakers shooting guard D’Moi Hodge has agreed to a deal with Greek club Aris, per Sportando. Hodge, 25, spent his rookie season with the Lakers as a two-way player this past season. He appeared in just seven games with the parent club, though he had a nice run in the G League. Hodge averages 13.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals for the Rip City Remix.
