The Nets intend to sign guard/forward DeAndre’ Bembry for the remainder of the season, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Bembry, 27, is 6-foot-5 and is averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds, in helping Brooklyn overcome the early-season absence of Kyrie Irving.
Bembry appeared in 51 games with the Raptors last season, but was waived on Aug. 3. He signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Nets five days later.
He is currently shooting a career-high 60 percent from the field and 46 percent on 3-pointers.
Prior to playing for the Nets and Raptors, Bembry spent the first four years of his career with the Hawks after being the No. 21 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Friday is the deadline for NBA teams to guarantee contracts for the rest of the season.
