The Pistons are acquiring center Bol Bol from the Nuggets in exchange for forward/guard Rodney McGruder, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Denver will also receive a future second-round draft pick, via the Nets, in the deal, Wojnarowski added.
Bol, 22, is 7-foot-2 and has appeared in just 14 games with the Nuggets this season. As Wojarowski noted, the Pistons are likely to offer him a chance at increased minutes — as Detroit is in rebuild mode.
McGruder, 30, is 6-4 and given the Nuggets’ intentions to be a playoff contender, could offer some help in reserve and at practice. He has appeared in 17 games and is averaging 2.5 points.
Bol is the son of the late Manute Bol, who a 7-foot-7 Dinka tribesman who played in the NBA in the late-1980s and 1990s.
