Grizzlies guard/forward Dillon Brooks is expected to miss three-to-five weeks with a sprained left ankle, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Brooks, 25, is 6-foot-7 and is averaging 18.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 21 games, and has been a major factor in the Grizzlies’ rise this season. Memphis entered Sunday night’s game vs. the Lakers having won eight straight.
Brooks suffered the injury Saturday in a win over the Clippers. He played just less than seven minutes before getting injured.
“This is a really unfortunate break for Brooks, who had only just returned to the lineup after a stint in the health and safety protocols,” wrote Jack Maloney of CBS Sports. “The matchup with the Clippers was just his second game back after missing six while dealing with COVID-19. Brooks also missed the first 10 games of the season with a broken hand.”
