The Bulls have waived point guard Devon Dotson, who had been on a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
And they will fill the vacancy by signing guard/forward Malcolm Hill, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Dotson, 22, is 6-foot-2 and has appeared in 11 games with the Bulls in each of the past two seasons, his first two in the NBA. This year, he compiled averages of 2.6 points and 1.4 assists.
Hill, 26, is 6-6 and has played just one game for the Bulls. As Charania noted, he played 18 “productive” minutes vs. the Celtics on Saturday.
“That’s the only game he has played so far for the Bulls, but he apparently impressed head coach Billy Donovan and the front office enough to earn a rest-of-season commitment,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
Hill also played in three games with the Hawks earlier this season. He had been on a 10-day hardship contract with Chicago.
