Nets Signing Former Hornets Guard To Camp Contract

The Nets are signing free agent point guard Amari Bailey to an Exhibit 10 contract for training camp, agent Kevin Bradbury told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.Amari Bailey, Hornets, Nets, NBA

Bailey, 20, is 6-foot-5 and spent one year at UCLA before declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft. He was selected by the Hornets with the No. 41 overall pick and appeared in 10 games with Charlotte, averaging 2.3 points and shooting 33.3% from the field.

Most of his time was spent in the G League, where he compiled averages of 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 36 games with the Greensboro Swarm. The Hornets did not tender a qualifying offer to Bailey after the season, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The Nets will now have Bailey, former lottery pick Killian Hayes, Mark Armstrong, and KJ Jones coming to camp on Exhibit 10 deals. They still have two of their three available two-way spots available.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum-salary deal. It doesn’t count toward a team’s cap unless the player makes the final roster. It also can be converted to a two-way deal before the season begins or mean guaranteed money if a player is waived and then stays on the G League club for at least 60 days.
