The Cavaliers have locked in Isaac Okoro and beyond that, have not really done much lately. That’s OK. Let’s see what develops with training camp a little more than a week away.
Meanwhile, the biggest NBA news of September took place earlier this week, when ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski announced his retirement. I discuss potential replacements at length, and offer some inside info, on the latest Hoops Wire Live from 330 to Go. Check it out on YouTube here or directly below.
As for the Cavaliers, I say things are good enough for now. Why not give it another try with a new coach (Kenny Atkinson)? You have until February to make a trade if it’s not working out.
Yes, I know. I keep beating this same drum. I also know fans want change when the team doesn’t look like a true championship contender — at least, not compared to the Celtics, 76ers and Knicks.
But things don’t always go as they should on paper. That’s why you play the games. For instance, nobody predicted the Nuggets would beat the Heat in the Finals two seasons ago. I bet no one even predicted it two weeks before those Finals. That’s why you don’t listen to narratives (unless they’re coming from your favorite NBA writer … wink, wink, nudge, nudge).
So, check out the latest show and as always, bombard me with your thoughts. The Cavaliers and NBA season is right around the corner.
