Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell has done it all — and frankly, what else is new? That includes burying a game-winning jumper with three-tenths of a second left in Cleveland’s 114-113 win at Milwaukee on Saturday.
For his efforts, Mitchell was named Eastern Conference Play of the Week, the NBA announced on Monday. The Cavs (7-0) face the Bucks (1-5) again in Cleveland on Monday night.

Per the Cavs’ PR department and NBA:
“Mitchell led the Cavaliers to an Eastern Conference-best 4-0 record this past week, averaging 27.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.0 assist, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 33.0 minutes per contest. He shot .541 (40-74) from the field, .459 (17-37) from three and a perfect 1.000 (14-14) from the foul line, while scoring 25 points or more in three of Cleveland’s four outings.
“The 6-3 guard knocked down 17 three-pointers during the week, which led the East, and was the only player in the entire NBA to average at least 25.0 points, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks. Additionally, Mitchell was tied for first in the East in free throw percentage, while ranking sixth in points per game, tied for fourth in steals per game, fifth in plus/minus (+41) and 17th in assists per game.
“Mitchell opened the week with a game-high 29 points, a 5-11 (.455) clip from the three-point line, five assists and two steals in 33 minutes in Cleveland’s 26-point win (136-110) over Sacramento on February 5. During the Cavaliers’ 114-106 road win at Washington on February 7, Mitchell erupted for 40 points (14-25 FG, 5-10 3FG, 7-7 FT), eight rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes.
It was his 27th career 40-point game, including his 18th as a Cavalier (second-most in team history), and fifth 40-point effort of the season.
He followed that up with 27 points (10-18 FG, 4-10 3FG), five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a career-high three blocks in Cleveland’s 23-point victory (118-95) at Brooklyn on February 8. Mitchell closed out the Cavaliers’ undefeated week by helping the team pick up their sixth straight road win, a 119-95 win in Toronto on February 10 as he tallied 15 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block in 31 minutes.
On the season, Mitchell is averaging a team-best 28.2 points (fifth-best in NBA), a career-high 5.4 rebounds, a career-high 6.3 assists (20th in NBA) and a career-high 1.88 steals (second in NBA) in 35.3 minutes.
“Selected as a 2024 NBA All-Star and Eastern Conference Player of the Month for January, Mitchell is one of just two NBA players this season averaging at least 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander). Cleveland is 35-16 (.686) on the season, including an NBA-best 22-4 (.846) since Dec. 16, and currently have the longest active win streak in the NBA at nine straight victories going into tonight’s game against Philadelphia.”
Mavericks guard Luka Doncic won the award in the West.
