The Wizards are aiming to trade guard Spencer Dinwiddie before the Feb. 10 deadline, as his teammates “don’t want him there,” according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
Dinwiddie is in his first season with Washington, coming over as part of multiteam the Russell Westbrook trade that also involved the Lakers.
The Wizards got off to a hot start, but have had chemistry issues more recently, presumably leading them to make a move or two.
“It’s an interesting situation,” Dinwiddie recently told reporters. “I spoke up a little bit early on [this season]. It wasn’t necessarily welcomed. And so, like I said, I try to do whatever’s asked of me.”
Dinwiddie, 28, is 6-foot-6 and averaging 13.2 points, 5.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 40 games entering Monday night.
The Clippers are among the teams that have an interest in Dinwiddie, O’Connor wrote.
In related news, Wizards guard Bradley Beal is expected to miss at least the next two games with a wrist injury.
