Bulls Rumors: Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball

The Chicago Bulls are hitting the reset button, but they’re not rushing the process.Zach LaVine, NBA, Chicago Bulls, Clippers

With DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso departing this offseason, the Bulls are shifting toward a youth movement while keeping the trade market open for their remaining veteran stars, as broken down by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Zach LaVine is the headliner. After being limited to just 25 games last season, LaVine is back in form, shooting career highs from the field and beyond the arc.

The catch? He’s owed $138 million through 2026-27, including a hefty player option. That’s a lot of money, even for a proven scorer. But with his production, the Bulls are betting there’s a contender willing to roll the dice, Scotto noted.

Nikola Vucevic reportedly is another centerpiece of the trade talks. The skilled big man is quietly having a resurgence, averaging 20 points for the first time in four seasons while setting career highs in shooting efficiency.

His $41.48 million deal through 2025-26 isn’t exactly team-friendly, but for a squad in need of a versatile center, Vucevic might just be worth it.

Then there’s Lonzo Ball, whose return from a near three-year layoff has been nothing short of inspiring. While his minutes are still limited, Ball has shown flashes of his old self.

His expiring $21.4 million contract makes him an intriguing asset, especially for teams looking to shed salary.

The holdup? Per Scotto, the Bulls’ asking prices remain steep. Chicago is banking on LaVine and Vucevic maintaining their torrid paces, hoping a contender desperate for a playoff boost will meet their demands. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

For now, the Bulls are willing to wait, knowing the trade deadline could bring clarity — and perhaps a major shift to their rebuild.
