NBA Trade Rumors: Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandon Ingram

NBA trade season is upon us, and as Shams Charania of ESPN reports, two names stand out: Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram.Zach LaVine, Jimmy Butler, Heat, Bulls, NBA

With Dec. 15 marking the date most offseason signees become trade-eligible, and executives gearing up for the G League Winter Showcase in Orlando later this month, the groundwork for blockbuster moves is already being laid.

The Miami Heat are reportedly open to listening to offers for Butler. Per Charania, Butler’s camp has indicated interest in destinations like Houston, Dallas, and Golden State — though his preference remains a win-now contender.

The six-time All-Star has been professional all season, averaging 19 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists on a career-best 55.7% shooting, but Miami’s middling status near the play-in bubble has raised questions about their trajectory.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are aggressively seeking to add a star to complement Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, with Jonathan Kuminga emerging as a potential trade chip.

According to Charania, rival executives are closely monitoring Kuminga, especially after his recent breakout performances, including a 33-point effort against the Rockets. Golden State faces a critical decision: ride with the promising forward or use him to land a win-now piece like Butler or another marquee name.

In New Orleans, the situation surrounding Brandon Ingram is just as compelling. Charania notes that Ingram recently joined Klutch Sports, signaling a potential shift in his future.

Despite averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists, contract talks between Ingram and the Pelicans stalled over the summer. Injuries have derailed the team’s season, and with financial constraints looming, the Pelicans might lean toward moving Ingram before he hits free agency.

The trade winds are swirling, and as Charania puts it, “the next two months will shape the present and future of franchises across the league.”
