Heat Have Taken Plenty Of Calls On Jimmy Butler, But Not Yet Moved By Offers

The Miami Heat have yet to receive any trade offers for Jimmy Butler that are considered attractive, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.Zach LaVine, Jimmy Butler, Heat, Bulls, NBA

“They’ve definitely gotten a lot of calls. The issue here is that most of the offers are not that attractive to the Heat,” Windhorst said during an appearance on SportsCenter.

“That doesn’t surprise them because a month ago they heard some calls on Jimmy Butler and then they came out with that statement that they weren’t going to trade him because they really didn’t like any of the offers.”

Windhorst further explained that teams around the league are testing how low they might be able to buy Butler.

“Right now you’re seeing a lot of teams testing just how low they might be able to buy Jimmy Butler for,” he said.

While the Heat have been largely uninterested in the offers they’ve received, Windhorst pointed out that the Phoenix Suns stand out as the exception.

The Suns, according to Windhorst, are continuing their pursuit of Butler, although the Heat are adamant about not taking on Bradley Beal’s contract in any potential deal.

This complicates matters, with Windhorst suggesting that any trade involving Butler could require the involvement of three or four teams to make the finances and roster moves work.

Despite the current lack of appealing offers, Windhorst does see a scenario where Butler is eventually moved.

“It’s going to be a lot of talking, a lot of complicated maneuvering. I think Butler will eventually get moved but the Heat don’t like their hand right now at all,” he said.

As of now, Miami is holding firm on their stance but the situation remains fluid, with teams continuing to test the waters for a potential blockbuster deal.
