Reggie Miller To Join NBC As One Of Top Analysts Next Season

Former NBA sharpshooter Reggie Miller has made another swish. Per Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, Miller is set to become one of the featured in-game analysts when the league returns to NBC next season.Reggie Miller, NBA

It sounds like a similar role to the one Miller has held with NBA games on TNT through the years. Per Glasspiegel, Miller will work alongside play-by-play men Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle on NBC broadcasts.

This move comes as part of the NBA’s new media rights deals set to take effect later this year. With NBC returning as one of the league’s broadcasting partners and TNT no longer holding the rights to air games, it’s a logical fit for Miller to join the network’s revamped NBA coverage. The switch is significant, considering Miller’s long tenure at TNT, where he became one of the most recognizable voices in basketball broadcasting.

As part of the shakeup, Miller will rotate duties with Jamal Crawford, who also reached a deal with NBC. The two former NBA guards will rotate as the network’s lead analysts, providing commentary and insight for games throughout the season. So yes, Crawford and Miller will each get the chance to work alongside both Tirico and Eagle, adding a dynamic blend of experience and energy to NBC’s broadcasts.

NBC Sports and Amazon Prime will be the league’s new media rights partners next season, joining holdover ESPN. Between NBC and Peacock, broadcasts of NBA games will be just about everywhere.

“Besides the marquee events, such as six conference finals, the All-Star game and ‘Sunday Night Basketball,’ NBC will have Tuesday night national games where the East and West coast will receive different games that begin in prime time locally,”  wrote Andrew Marchand of The Athletic.
