The Kings released a statement following the NBA one-game suspension of forward/center Domantas Sabonis, saying they aren’t on board with the decision.
Sabonis will miss Wednesday’s game vs. the Nuggets and be docked a game’s pay for confronting and bumping an official, the league announced.
“We disagree with the NBA’s decision to suspend Domantas Sabonis,” the Kings’ statement read. “He is a consummate professional and the ultimate competitor. We stand behind Domas, and he has our full support.”
The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter of the Kings’ home loss to the Knicks on Monday, when Sabonis received a technical for arguing a call. He then approached and angrily bumped the official, resulting in a second technical and an ejection.

Sabonis, 25, is 6-foot-11 and was acquired by the Kings in a trade with the Pacers at the deadline (Feb. 10). He is averaging 17.4 points and a career-high 12.8 rebounds in 11 games with Sacramento.
