The Pelicans are signing forward Alize Johnson to a second 10-day contract via the hardship exception, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Johnson had his first 10-day terminated on Friday, and the Pelicans then signed Tyrone Wallace to a 10-day. Johnson’s first 10-day was a standard deal; the Pelicans were able to bring him back via the hardship.
“New Orleans thus has the option of offering Johnson another standard 10-day before deciding whether to offer him a rest-of-the-season contract,” explained Dana Gauruder of Hoops Rumors.
All of this seems like a lot of hubbub for some end-of-the-bench guys, but Johnson and Wallace could both prove valuable, given the injuries/illness to CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram and of course, Zion Williamson.
