Bulls power forward Patrick Williams has been assigned to the Windy City Bulls and is targeting a return next week, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The Bulls announced that Williams underwent wrist surgery in October and at the time, he was expected to miss the season. So a return ahead of the playoffs would undoubtedly serve as a pleasant surprise.
Williams, 20, is 6-foot-7 and was averaging 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in the first five games before suffering the injury. He started all five.
Williams was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 draft. He averaged 9.2 points and 6.4 boards in 71 games last season, starting in each.
