Netflix hopes the new movie Hustle, starring veteran actor Adam Sandler, will be a slam dunk.
The film was produced by LeBron James‘ The SpringHill company along with Sandler’s Happy Madison company. It features Sandler in the role of an NBA scout who discovers a diamond-in-the-rough talent, played by Juancho Hernangomez, most recently of the Jazz.
“You’re going to see a lot of excellent basketball players in this movie. It was never as easy to get cameos in any movie than it was on Hustle because when you say Adam Sandler’s name, people immediately perk up,” executive producer Spencer Beighley told USA Today.
“All these players, they not only grew up with all of Adam’s movies, but they know that he is a true basketball fan at his core.”
Hustle does indeed include a number of NBA players, including Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic and 76ers forward Tobias Harris, to name a few.
“There are so many hidden cameos that sometimes go so ‘inside-basketball’ that only the dedicated fans are really going to notice,” Beighley said. “I think it’s those cameos that allow this story to feel like a love letter to the game.”
Sandler tweeted out a trailer for the movie, which you can view below. The film is now streaming on Netflix.
