NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Monday there’s “no contemplation” of moving the 2026 All-Star Game out of the LA Clippers’ Intuit Dome as the league investigates whether the team violated salary cap rules involving Kawhi Leonard.
The investigation was launched last month following journalist Pablo Torre’s report on a $28 million endorsement deal between Leonard and Aspiration Fund Adviser LLC — a California-based sustainability firm that has since filed for bankruptcy.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer previously invested $50 million in Aspiration, and the company announced a $300 million partnership with the team in 2021.
Penalties for cap violations can be severe — including fines up to $7.5 million, voided contracts and the loss of draft picks — but the league’s midseason showcase will proceed as planned.
“There’s no contemplation of moving the All-Star Game,” Silver said. Planning is “completely independent” of the probe.
The 2026 All-Star Game is set for Feb. 15 on NBC, with a new USA vs. World format expected.
