All the Lakers need to do with their Game 2 loss to the Grizzlies is leave it in the dust.
At least, that seems to be the opinion of big man Anthony Davis, who struggled to 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting. In the end, shorthanded Memphis walked away with a 103-93 without injured point guard Ja Morant.
“I liked the shots I took, just missed them,” Davis told reporters. “A lot of shots close to the rim that normally go in. Flush it and get ready for (Game 3) Saturday.”
LeBron James led the way with 28 points and Rui Hachimura gave another strong showing in reserve with 20. But the Lakers failed to match the Grizzlies in the energy department for most of the night.
Still, they got the first one, nabbing homecourt advantage as the series shifts to LA. so, yes, it’s tied at 1-all.
But in order to maintain the edge, the Lakers will have to show a little more fire and cohesion than they did on Wednesday.
“If we’re comfortable, they’ll come in and take that homecourt advantage right back from us,” James said.
Davis added he’s happy that the Lakers are headed back home.
Forward Xavier Tillman led the Grizzlies with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
