Anthony Davis hasn’t played a game yet for the Wizards, but he already has a vision for how this thing could work.
Still sidelined as he recovers from a hand injury, Davis told Monumental Sports Network that he’s excited about the fit in Washington. That’s especially the case on offense, when Davis and Trae Young are both healthy.
“I think we can be a dynamic duo,” Davis said, pointing to the spacing and playmaking Young brings.
But it’s the other side of the ball that really has Davis leaning in. The veteran big man said he’s especially eager to team up with rookie Alex Sarr, calling the defensive potential “insane.”
“On the defensive end, it’s going to be insane,” Davis said.
Davis hasn’t logged a minute yet, and timelines remain unclear. Still, the Wizards didn’t acquire him to be a placeholder.
They see a bridge, with experience meeting youth, and Davis sounds ready to help build it.
