Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Billups is just the latest coach to enter the protocol, joining the Suns’ Monty Williams, Pacers’ Rick Carlisle, Bulls’ Billy Donovan, Lakers’ Frank Vogel and Kings interim coach Alvin Gentry. Carlisle and Gentry have since exited and are back on the sideline.
The Trail Blazers have multiple players in the protocol at this writing, including Robert Covington, Ben McLemore, Dennis Smith Jr. and Cody Zeller.
Blazers assistant Scott Brooks will coach the team in Billups’ absence, Wojnarowski reported.
