Free agent forwards Michael Beasley and Patrick Patterson are among those on the Trail Blazers’ radar with training camp about three weeks away, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Blazers currently have 16 players headed to camp — meaning four spots still remain. They certainly aren’t opposed to adding players with previous NBA experience, having already signed the likes of point guard Dennis Smith Jr., forward Marquese Chriss and forward/center Harry Giles to camp deals.
Beasley, 32, is 6-foot-9 and actually spent time with Portland in summer league. He last appeared in the NBA during the 2018-19 season with the Lakers.
The former No. 2 overall draft pick has also spent time with the Knicks, Heat, Bucks, Rockets, Suns and Timberwolves. He averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in his most recent season.
Patterson, 32, is 6-8 and appeared in 32 games with the Clippers last season, compiling averages of 5.2 points and 2.0 rebounds. He has also spent time with the Thunder, Raptors, Kings and Rockets.
