The Trail Blazers have officially signed rookie center/forward John Butler Jr. to a two-way contract, per the RealGM transactions log.
Butler, is 7-foot-1 and went undrafted this past summer after one year at Florida State. He then signed on with the Pelicans for summer league, before being waived by New Orleans last week.
Before waiving him, the Pelicans had signed him to a two-way deal — making his contract with the Blazers his second two-way this month.
Interestingly, both of Portland’s two-players are 7-footers, with Olivier Sarr holding down the other slot.
