Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal intends to undergo surgery on his left wrist, costing him the remainder of the season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Beal suffered the injury at the end of last month in a game against the Grizzlies. He initially had been ruled out only about a week.
Beal, 28, is 6-foot-4 and leads the Wizards at 23.2 points, and is also averaging 6.6 points and 4.7 rebounds. His scoring has dipped by eight points per game from last season.
Bradley Beal is eligible to sign a five-year, $245M contract with the Wizards this summer. Beal has a $36.4M player option on next season. https://t.co/T22NT7QzR8

It’s quite a blow to the Wizards (24-29), who have had a rocky season even with Beal. They enter Tuesday night as losers of eight in their last 10 and sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
That said, they are reportedly looking to make some trades ahead of Thursday’s deadline, and are said to be dangling guard Spencer Dinwiddie.
