Trade Proposal Sends Bradley Beal To Clippers, Zach LaVine To Spurs, Norman Powell To Suns, Keldon Johnson To Bulls

One NBA analyst proposed a trade idea between the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following mock trade:

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: SG Bradley Beal, 2031 first-round pick (unprotected via Phoenix Suns), 2025 second-round pick (via Sacramento Kings), 2028 second-round pick (via Chicago Bulls)

San Antonio Spurs Receive: G/F Zach LaVine, 2029 first-round pick (unprotected via Chicago Bulls)

Phoenix Suns Receive: SG Norman Powell, F/C Zach Collins, F/C P.J. Tucker

Chicago Bulls Receive: F Keldon Johnson, G/F Terance Mann, G Bones Hyland, SG Amir Coffey

Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t be traded unless he requests a trade or approves a deal.

The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards last offseason. Beal averaged 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in his first season with Phoenix while shooting 51.3% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 81.3% from the free-throw line.

Beal, who will make $50.2 million next season, has career averages of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks. He has made three All-Star teams and one All-NBA team. 

LaVine played in only 25 games last season. He underwent season-ending right foot surgery in February.

A two-time All-Star and a two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, LaVine averaged 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 45.2% from the field, 34.9% from beyond the arc and 85.4% from the free-throw line.

LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022. The shooting guard will make $43 million next season. 

A UCLA product, LaVine has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls.

Powell averaged 13.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Clippers last season while shooting 48.6% from the field, 43.5% from beyond the arc and 83.1% from the free-throw line. He’ll make $19.2 million next season. 

An NBA champion, Powell has career averages of 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers and Clippers. 

For the Spurs last season, Johnson averaged 15.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 45.4% from the field, 34.6% from beyond the arc and 79.2% from the free-throw line. He’ll make $19 million next season. 

Johnson has career averages of 16.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks.
