AKRON, Ohio — Well, everyone said the Cavaliers needed to get tougher.
So how does Browns defensive end Myles Garrett sound? No, Garrett isn’t suiting up for the Cavs to grab some rebounds and maybe set some picks. Instead, he has purchased a minority ownership stake in the team, as first relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Garrett has been a regular at Cavs games since the Browns selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has also become arguably the top defensive lineman in the league.
Now, he will have the title as the top NFL defensive lineman who also owns part of an NBA team and will serve as a brand ambassador for the Cavaliers.
NFL-NBA news: Cleveland Browns All-Pro Myles Garrett has purchased a minority stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers. He will also serve as an official Cavaliers brand ambassador.
