The Bulls and defending champion Bucks are two teams that have made trade offers for Celtics point guard Dennis Schroder, according to Matt Moore of The Action Network.
As we relayed last week, Schroder is believed to be one of the league’s most available players ahead of Thursday’s deadline to make a deal. Moore wrote that the Celtics’ priority “is to clear salary to save on the luxury tax.”
Last week, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype wrote that the Bulls might make sense as someone in pursuit of Schroder, especially given the injury to Alex Caruso.
Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report reported something similar: “A framework of Schroder to Chicago for Brown Jr. and a second-round pick has circulated around the league,” Fischer wrote.
As for the Bucks’ interest, Moore’s report was the first to identify Milwaukee as suitor. But a deal there would make sense there, too, as Schroder can push the tempo and again, is likely easy to be acquired with his expiring deal.
Schroder, 28, is 6-foot-3 and is averaging 14.3 points and 4.4 assists in 47 appearances, in his first season in Boston.
