Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry is actively looking to sell his stake in the team, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line, but it may not travel far.
There’s a chance that Lasry, who owns 50 percent of the franchise, could just sell his share to fellow co-owner Wes Edens, Stein added. That would simply make Edens controlling owner.
The Bucks won the NBA championship in 2020. They were a contender before that and have remained so ever since.
“Forbes valued the Bucks at $2.3 billion in October, but presumably Lasry would be able to secure a higher valuation if he were to sell his portion of the team,” noted Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
Lasry and Edens fronted the purchase of the Bucks from Herb Kohl in 2014 for a reported $55o million.
