CLEVELAND — Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo exited Monday’s game against the Cavaliers with what the team called a left groin strain.

Antetokounmpo limped off the court late in the second quarter, went straight to the locker room and did not return after halftime.

He started to grab at the groin after a failed attempt at the rim. The Bucks (8-6) entered the night in seventh place in the Eastern Conference — a race that figures to stay close all the way until April.

So losing their star for any amount of time could hurt now and later.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 32.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 12 appearances this season.
