Kevin Porter Jr. will be sidelined again.

The Bucks announced that Porter will undergo a minor orthopedic procedure to address a torn meniscus in his right knee and is expected to miss about four weeks.

The injury occurred during on-court work Thursday as Porter was ramping back up from a left ankle sprain.

Porter started at point guard on opening night after re-signing with Milwaukee on a two-year deal this summer. But he played only nine minutes before the ankle issue knocked him out, and now his return will be delayed deeper into November.

The 30th pick in the 2019 draft has always carried big upside — along with plenty of baggage. P

orter missed the entire 2023-24 season following a domestic violence incident that triggered a league investigation. He resurfaced with the Clippers last year, then found his footing with Milwaukee after a midseason trade, averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.4 percent and 40.8 percent on threes.

In the meantime, Ryan Rollins and free agent pickup Cole Anthony will continue to see elevated roles. Milwaukee is off to a 4-1 start.
