The Bucks have been surveying the trade market as they look for ways to upgrade the roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Amick reports that Milwaukee has been connected to several notable names, including Zach LaVine and Malik Monk of the Kings, Anthony Davis of the Mavericks, and Michael Porter Jr. of the Nets.
“As of early this week, league sources say there were no active talks” involving LaVine or Monk, Amick wrote, adding that while the Bucks have registered interest in Davis, there appears to be no realistic pathway to a deal. Milwaukee is also believed to be among several teams monitoring Porter’s availability.
The Bucks sit at 17–21 and remain on the outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, fueling speculation that the front office will attempt to shake things up ahead of the February 5 trade deadline.
LaVine is earning $47.5 million this season, Monk $18.8 million, Davis $54.1 million, and Porter $38.3 million, figures that complicate any potential deal for a team mindful of its cap sheet.
Still, Antetokounmpo has reiterated his commitment to Milwaukee, saying recently that he is “locked in” and focused on helping the Bucks turn their season around, even as the organization continues to explore ways to better support its franchise cornerstone.
