The Bucks are signing shooting guard Malik Beasley to a one-year contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Beasley, 26, started last season with the Jazz, then was traded to the Lakers at the February deadline. He appeared in 81 games overall, averaging 12.7 points and 3.5 rebounds, shooting 40 percent from the field and 35 percent on 3-pointers.
But he fell out of the rotation with Los Angeles in the playoffs, averaging 3.0 points in just 11 appearances.
Milwaukee, however, is looking for additional perimeter shooting in reserve and Beasley undoubtedly fits the description — and should get the opportunity for more minutes than he received late in the season with the Lakers.
Beasley will likely be in the mix with Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton and A.J. Green when it comes to playing time with the Bucks. He has also spent time with the Nuggets and Timberwolves.
While details have not been reported, it is believed Beasley received the veteran’s minimum in his new contract.
