Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr. will miss at least two weeks after suffering a right MCL sprain and right ankle sprain in Monday’s win over the Pistons.
The team announced that Portis will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Portis, 27, is 6-foot-10 and a candidate and averaging 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds in 47 games, shooting 50 percent from the field. He is considered one of the league’s top candidates for Sixth Man of the Year honors.
The Bucks (30-17) sit in third place in the Eastern Conference. As we relayed here, they have agreed forward/center Serge Ibaka to seek a trade, though the Portis injury makes you wonder if he might return until the Feb. 9 trade deadline. So far, however, there is no indication of that.
