The Bucks’ wide net in their coaching search is becoming clearer, with Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin the latest expected to interview for the job, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Griffin becomes the latest known candidate, with Milwaukee also looking into the likes of Trail Blazers assistant Scott Brooks (full post), as well as Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson, Bucks assistant Charles Lee and former Hornets coach James Borrego (full post).
Griffin, 48, was the top assistant to former Raptors coach Nick Nurse and has been in the running for several vacancies over the past few years. He is believed to also be a top candidate to replace Nurse with the Raptors.
He began as an assistant with the Bucks in 2008, and has also served in the same role with the Magic, Bulls, Thunder, and of course, Raptors.
There is no timeframe on a hire to replace fired coach Mike Budenholzer, Bucks GM Jon Horst has said, as we relayed here.
The Milwaukee Bucks received permission to interview Toronto Raptors top assistant Adrian Griffin for their coaching job, sources tell ESPN. Griffin is also a candidate for the opening in Toronto. He started his coaching career with the Bucks.
