The Bucks intend to interview Suns assistant Kevin Young for their head-coaching vacancy, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This is part of a wide-ranging search that actually includesMonty Williams, fired as Suns coach over the weekend.
Williams, Young and the Suns lost to the Bucks in the 2021 Finals in six games. That Milwaukee team was coached by Mike Budenholzer, also fired after this season.
Young has served as a head coach in the G League, and has been an assistant in Phoenix since 2020. Just before that, he served as an assistant with the 76ers for three years.
Young is also a native of Salt Lake City and coached at Utah Valley State in 2007-08 before coaching the Utah Flash of the G League from 2009-11.
He is said to be in the running for the Suns vacancy as well.
ESPN analyst Mark Jackson and former NBA shooting guard J.J. Redick are also said to be candidates in Milwaukee, as is Bucks assistant Charles Lee.
The Milwaukee Bucks have received permission to interview Phoenix Suns associate head coach Kevin Young for the franchise’s coaching job, sources tell ESPN. Young is also a candidate with Toronto and expected to interview with the Suns for the new opening there.
