The defending NBA champion Bucks intend to sign free agent center DeMarcus Cousins, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Cousins, 31, has been a free agent since the end of last season, which he finished with the Clippers. Per Wojnarowski, his deal with the Bucks is non-guaranteed. Milwaukee will need to decide whether to guarantee it by Jan. 7.
Cousins averaged 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 16 games with the Clippers after spending the first part of the season with the Rockets. The four-time All-Star also played meaningful minutes in the playoffs as LA made a run to the Western Conference Finals.
Since making his last All-Star team, though, he suffered a ruptured Achilles and torn ACL and hasn’t been the same player who carries career averages of 20.4 points and 10.6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Bucks have been without center Brook Lopez and were clearly looking to add some size. Lopez has been out with a back injury.
