The Bucks plan to call up forward/center Javin DeLaurier from the the Wisconsin Herd, agent Garry Durrant told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
DeLaurier is 6-foot-10 and went undrafted out of Duke. The Herd is the Bucks’ G League affiliate, with which DeLaurier was averaging 7.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. He is being signed to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception.
Milwaukee currently has three players in health and safety protocols, but until DeLaurier, had yet to sign any replacement players.
“It comes as a bit of a surprise that the Bucks both used the hardship exception at all and that they used it on DeLaurier,” wrote Bradshaw Furlong of FanSided. “It’s a surprise that they used it at all considering Eric Nehm of The Athletic tweeted yesterday that the Bucks were not required to use it.”
