The Bucks have waived forward Alex Antetokounmpo, shortly after signing him and enabling the organization to retain his G League rights, per Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
He can still earn up to a $75,000 bonus if he spends at least 60 days with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ affiliate.
Antetokounmpo, 22, is 6-foot-8 and the brother of Bucks forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo. He signed with the Bucks ahead of training camp last season but was waived a day later.
Alex Antetokounmpo instead spent last season with the Herd, averaging 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games (21 starts). He is also the brother of former Lakers and Mavericks forward Kostas Antetokounmpo.
Per a league source, the Bucks have signed and waived Alex Antetokounmpo.
They did this with him last offseason as well. It allows the Bucks to retain his G-League rights and makes Antetokounmpo eligible for a bonus worth up to $75K if he spends at least 60 days with the Herd.
