Bulls coach Billy Donovan has entered health and safety protocols, as relayed by K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.
Assistant Chris Fleming will coach the team in Donovan’s absence, Johnson added.
This is quite a change for the Bulls, who finally started getting their players back out the protocols, including DeMar DeRozan last week and Zach LaVine on Thursday.
Donovan either returned an inconclusive test or a positive COVID test. He will need to return two negatives in a 24-hour span to return to the sideline. Either that, or wait 10 days.
Donovan becomes the fourth coach in December to enter protocols, joining Pacers coach Rick Carlisle, Lakers coach Frank Vogel and Kings interim man Alvin Gentry.
