The Bulls have been contacting rival teams and “quietly gauging” the trade market for guard Zach LaVine, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
In other words, while Chicago hardly seems desperate to move LaVine, this is NBA trade season, where only five or six players across the entire league can be deemed untouchable.
And given that the Bulls failed to make the playoffs … well, they too are looking for ways to improve the club. Of all the players on the roster, LaVine would most likely bring the most in return.
LaVine, 28, is coming off another fine season, averaging 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 77 games, shooting 49 percent from the field and 39 percent on 3-pointers.
He still has four years remaining on a five-year, $215 million deal.
While the Bulls may look to see what the market is, they likely are seeking even more for LaVine than what the Wizards might want in return for shooting guard Bradley Beal, Fischer added.
