The Bulls have waived training camp invitee and forward/center Kenneth Lofton Jr., per the RealGM NBA transactions log.
Along with Lofton, Chicago waived shooting guard Onuralp Bitim. Both players are likely headed to the Windy City Bulls of the G League.
Lofton, 21, is 6-foot-8 and was waived by the Jazz this past offseason after appearing in four games with the team, averaging 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists. He signed a two-way contract with the 76ers in late December after being waived by the Grizzlies, appearing in two games with the Sixers (before being waived on March 1).
Overall, Lofton appeared in 17 games last season, his second in the NBA, averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds. He played in 24 games as a rookie and averaged 5.0 points and 2.1 boards.
Bitim, 25, is 6-6 and appeared in 23 games with Chicago last season as a rookie after signing a two-way contract. He was signed to a standard deal in February.
The Bulls wrap up preseason play on Friday at home against the Cavaliers. They open the regular season on Wednesday with a visit to the Pelicans, followed by a visit to the Bucks and the home opener vs. the Thunder a night later.
Chicago finished 39-43 and lost in the second game of the play-in tournament, failing to qualify for the playoffs.
