Bulls Continue Eyeing Trades For Nikola Vucevic, Lonzo Ball, And Yes, Zach LaVine

The Chicago Bulls want to move and shake, that much we know. But whether they’re actually able to do that ahead of the NBA trade deadline next month … well, it’s hard to say.Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, Nikola Vucevic, NBA rumors

While moving Zach LaVine’s hefty contract remains a challenging proposition, the Bulls are at least expected to try to make a move with center Nikola Vucevic and potentially guard Lonzo Ball.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Vucevic, who’s been performing at a high level with averages of 20.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, could be on the move.

Meanwhile, Ball, whose expiring contract and successful recovery from long-term knee issues have made him an intriguing trade asset, may also be dealt.

As Stein notes, the Bulls are facing a difficult decision and have significant incentive to tank this season. The team’s priority is securing a favorable draft position, as they are set to keep their first-round pick only if they finish with the sixth-worst record or lower.

Chicago owes a top-10 protected pick to the San Antonio Spurs, making it crucial for them to either trade away valuable assets or fail to contend for a playoff spot in order to preserve that pick.

With Vucevic and Ball both providing value on the trade market, the Bulls are indeed likely to field offers ahead of the deadline — and may have already.

However, the decision to deal LaVine remains more complicated given his large contract and long-term commitment.
