While the Bulls are rumored to be contemplating a “fire sale,” guard Alex Caruso is not among those they are thinking about moving, per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. At least, not yet.
Johnson wrote that he has “not heard anything” on the Bulls potentially wanting to trade Caruso. He added that Chicago “rebuffed all Caruso overtures in the past.”
That said, this is the NBA and just about anyone can be traded anywhere and at any time.
For now, it seems, the Bulls’ main focus appears to be on what to do next with star guard Zach LaVine, as the team and the player are said to be open to a trade. LaVine has been linked to the Lakers, the 76ers, the Knicks and the Heat, along with several others.
The Lakers have also been linked to Caruso and DeMar DeRozan, perhaps because the Lakers are continuously linked to everyone who may or may not be available.
But for the time being, it seems, the Bulls aren’t moving Caruso, a former member of the Lakers. In 10 games this year, Caruso, 29, is averaging 8.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists, offering his usual dose of strong backcourt defense.
Seeing Alex Caruso speculation almost daily, now tied to Bulls potentially having “fire sale” if LaVine is dealt.
FWIW, Bulls have rebuffed all Caruso overtures in past and, at least as of now, I’ve heard nothing to indicate they have interest in dealing him.
