The Bulls intend to sign free agent guard Patrick Beverley for the remainder of the season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This will mark his third team in less than a year, but the Chicago native should bring some toughness and veteran know-how to a Bulls’ roster that perhaps could use some.
Beverley, 34, was traded to the Lakers from the Jazz (via the Timberwolves) before the season, then from the Lakers to the Magic at the deadline earlier this month.
The Magic waived Beverley soon thereafter.
He averaged 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting 41 percent from the field in 45 games in his lone run with LA. He has also spent time with the Clippers and Rockets.
As Woj relayed, the Bulls will have to waive a player to make room on the roster for Beverly.
The Chicago Bulls are nearing a deal to sign free agent guard Patrick Beverley for the rest of the season, sources tell ESPN.
