Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth is expected to be promoted to head of basketball operations following the exit of Tim Connelly to the Timberwolves, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Booth, 46, has been serving as GM of the Nuggets since 2020. Before that, he served as assistant GM with the Nuggets, as well as in the front office with the Timberwolves and the Pelicans.
Booth spent 10 seasons as a center in the NBA (1999-2009). That included stints with the Wizards, 76ers, Bucks, Kings, SuperSonics and Timberwolves, as well as several with the Mavericks.
“There is significant belief in Booth inside the organization, and the former NBA veteran is well-respected as a rising executive across league,” Charania wrote.
Connelly reportedly agreed to a five-year deal with the Timberwolves, which will create the vacancy in Denver.
