Cam Reddish is taking the long way back.
According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the former lottery pick has signed a G League contract and is expected to enter the available player pool if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
That would allow any G League team to add him, resetting the path for a player who once looked like a fixture in NBA rotations.
Reddish, 26, was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 draft and spent six seasons in the league with Atlanta, New York, Portland, and the Lakers. The tools were always evident. The consistency was not. Reddish averaged 8.5 points across 254 NBA games and never quite established himself as a dependable offensive option.
After being waived by the Lakers last spring, Reddish went overseas, signing with BC Šiauliai in Lithuania. He later left the club for personal reasons and returned to the United States.
