The Suns have agreed to re-sign point guard Cameron Payne on a three-year contract worth $19 million, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Payne, 26, made a name for himself this last season in the playoffs, as the Suns advanced to the Finals before losing to the Bucks.
He averaged 8.4 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 60 games, filling in admirably for Chris Paul durig the regular season and playoffs.
“As far as being a team member, the way he played this year was phenomenal,” Suns general manager James Jones said last week after the NBA Draft. “I couldn’t be happier for Cam. I know the team — we all enjoyed his success. He’s a kid that has played his way back into a position … which is a really good, quality, rotation NBA player. We’re excited for what he’s done.
“Looking forward to talking to him soon to keep him with us. We know how valuable he is for us and I believe there is a lot more growth in his game that (coach Monty Williams) can unlock.”
